The Book of Romans
Paul’s letter to the church in Rome came at a time when they needed to understand the foundations and the complexities of their faith. Within its pages, Paul outlines on of the simplest explanations of the gospel found in Scripture. Then, he puts his brilliant mind to task of exploring some of the most complex doctrines of the Christian faith and how the understanding of those doctrines is the key to living a life of hope now and joy for the eternity that awaits those who know Christ as their Lord and Savior
Sunday evening study at 6:00pm~ Psalms
Studying the Book of Psalms offers countless blessings, enriching both the mind and spirit. This collection of 150 poetic songs, written by King David and others, provides a timeless guide for navigating life’s highs and lows. One of its greatest gifts is the raw honesty it models—psalms of praise, lament, and thanksgiving reflect the full spectrum of human emotion. This fosters a deeper connection with the Lord, as the Psalms teach trust, gratitude, and surrender.
Studying the Psalms also sharpens spiritual wisdom, revealing God’s character—His mercy, justice, and steadfast love. The poetic language inspires reflection and prayer, embedding truths in the heart.
Moreover, the Psalms unite believers across generations, as their themes resonate universally. Whether seeking solace, strength, or joy, readers find a companion in these ancient words. Regularly engaging with the Psalms cultivates a habit of worship and dependence on God, making it a wellspring of spiritual vitality for anyone willing to dive in.
Thursday Evenings 6:30 pm Bible Study: The Attributes of God
It is important for Christians to study His attributes because it deepens our understanding of who God is, strengthens our faith, and shapes how we live.
Knowing God’s attributes—like His love, justice, holiness, omnipotence, or mercy—helps a believer connect with Him on deeper level. It’s not just abstract theology; it’s about recognizing the character of the One they worship and trust.
For example, understanding God’s omniscience (that He knows everything) will bring comfort when life feels chaotic because He’s not caught off guard. Grasping His grace inspires gratitude and humility, knowing forgiveness isn’t earned but given. Studying His justice will encourage us to care more about righteousness in our own lives.
The Bible itself encourages this: Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God,”
It’s also practical. When we know God’s unchanging nature—like His faithfulness (Deuteronomy 7:9)—it builds confidence to rely on His promises, especially in tough times. Plus, it guards against wrong ideas about Him, like thinking He’s just a cosmic buddy or a harsh tyrant. The more we study, the closer we grow to the our Lord and the deeper our understanding of the balance of His attributes, like how His wrath and love coexist without contradiction.
Ultimately, it’s about relationship with God. You don’t love or follow someone you don’t know. Studying God’s attributes is a way to know Him better, worship Him more fully, and reflect Him in daily life and grow in our Christian life.
